Our U.S. staff is kept very small to minimize administrative costs. They help to create and evaluate projects, communicate with Malian staff, coordinate committees and volunteers, raise funds and educate communities about Ouelessebougou.

Mali Staff
The Alliance’s Mali staff is key to the success of all our projects in Ouelessebougou. Each staff member oversees a specific sector area and communicates monthly with U.S.-based committees via email. All of our Malian staff members and are fluent in French (language of commerce) and Bambara (Ouelessebougou’s indigenous language) The Peace Corps also provides one full-time volunteer to support our staff efforts—assigned to varying sectors every 2 years.
Anounou SissokoFIELD DIRECTOR
Anounou received his Bachelors and Masters degrees in International Trade from South Eastern University. Since 2000, Anounou has worked for the Alliance and has coordinated all project activities, working directly with villagers to ensure they are involved in every stage of project planning, implementation and evaluation.
Mariama “Tenengnini” DiakiteHEALTH COORDINATOR
Teningnini oversees village vaccinations, mosquito netting and health education, through village midwives and health agents. Teningnini also assists villages with their health plans to ensure that health initiatives are met and that the overall wellbeing in the villages improves from year to year. Teningnini has been with the Alliance for 10 years.
